In the last quarter of 2002, I linked up with Randy Clepper, a fine guitar, cittern-bozouki, mandolin, hammer-dulcimer player for several gigs. We recorded a demo CD and have plans for actually finishing the job (a full CD I mean!) sometime ... during some subsequent year. This, of course, necessitated that we call ourselves something .. so we decided to call ourselves Begley's Braes. It is not a deep mystery: our favorite set is a tune called "Begley's Baile", and we play a lot of Scottish and Irish music, so "Braes" brings in the flavor of the Scottish music.

So although I still play solo often, several times a year I link up with Randy for some of our favorite gigs.
